FLOOD UPDATE.

As of a few minutes ago the Mississippi River at Clarksville,Mo. and in front of My Old Historic House, has crested. That means for now it has topped out and will stay steady for a while then go down. That does not mean we are totally in the clear. The ways could give way, break, leak or the river can rise back up. That is probably the case as there is still lots of snow and cold weather up north of us. WE are also expecting rain starting in a day or so. For now the house and my shop is safe as a bug in a rug and Sissy is a happy camper. Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes. I will keep you informed. It is a beautiful day here today!!! Richard

Glad the news is good and our hopes are you and Sissy will be safe this Spring. We are wanting rain here for it is still our time for replenishing the lakes and soaking the ground. We love to hear how you are doing. We have been making family photos of pets and our son in the Texas bluebonnets. My mother has been seriously ill in the hospital and now is in a skilled nursing facility. Are the beautiful pink trees blooming or have they gone yet? We so enjoyed visiting you 2 years ago and one day would love to see your beautiful town again!
Take care of yourself and Sissy and keep us updated on the flood and your mall and home!

Darn I sure hope it doesn't get any higher and doesn't interfere with the May 4th weekend events .

One of my friends coming up with me said she seen on the news where the river is very high at Clarksville and I seen on news this morning where several barges broke loose down at St Louis where the river is so high

We are all watching the conditions for sure. You and Sissy stay high and dry

Hi Richard,
Saw Clarksville on the Today Show and read an article online that quoted you. I've been thinking of you and your townspeople and praying for your safety. I too, like Janice, am hoping that May 4 is still on.
You and Sissy dog take care,
Gina

Boy, Ole Man River really keeps you on your toes.

Glad to hear that it's crested and maybe your town--and house--will be okay.

Keep up your spirits, and you and Sissy stay high and dry.

It must be a great relief for you that the river has crested! I understand that even so, you would have to face flood restoration issues. Hope the water damage was not too much and you were able to remove severely damaged materials as these may be health and safety hazards to your family. Watch out for molds which could damage your appliances and compromise your health. Anyway, hope you're all safe.
